BisOS is the business operating system I built so a service company can run customers, jobs, invoices, scheduling, and its books in one place instead of five disconnected tools. It is one shared platform with verticals layered on top as configuration: a new kind of business is labels, workflow statuses, and modules, not a rewrite. The first vertical is built for DJ and live-event companies. It was built to run my own companies first, and it is the backbone several ventures on this page operate on.
What I built
The architecture: roughly 80% shared platform and 20% vertical, so a new product is configuration and a thin extension rather than a new backend
The ledger: a single balanced-or-rejected posting path, with every accounting feature covered by its own test suite against a real database
Tenant isolation enforced in the database and checked automatically on every change
Account security: rotating refresh tokens, authenticator-app MFA, escalating lockout, role and permission gates, and encrypted per-company integration secrets
The DJ vertical: events, song requests, and event timelines
The product
One platform, many businesses
Multi-company from the first line. Every business gets its own workspace, isolated at the database level rather than by application code, so one tenant can never read another's records. Verticals and installable modules are data, so the same platform serves very different companies.
Accounting built in, not bolted on
An in-house double-entry ledger sits under everything. A deposit is a liability until the job is delivered, sales tax is tracked as a liability, and cash or accrual basis is a setting. Chart of accounts, general ledger drill-down, trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss, payables, receivables aging, credit notes, and customer credits are all native.
Canadian tax, made fileable
A GST/HST return worksheet with per-rate breakdown, a printable return-ready tax package, and receipt capture by web or by email with a review step before anything becomes an expense.
Running the day
Invoicing with line items and multi-rate tax, a client portal by magic link, a conflict-checked dispatch board, timesheets with job profitability, recurring billing, shift scheduling with drop, claim and swap, e-signature, estimates, online booking, and an SMS inbox.
Open to other software
A versioned public API with scoped keys and a published OpenAPI document, plus signed outbound webhooks with retries.
